This is perhaps one of the most pervasive bits of nonsense that has common acceptance in adult society. But upon examination it is about on the level of "step on a crack and break your mother's back." In a Hollywood context, say Hitler's name five times into a mirror and he will appear. One of the popular forms of this is that if anything good is said about Hitler or the Nazis they will appear again. May I point out that if their political ideas are that attractive there has to have been a lot of good about their ideas? But seriously, they were a political party like any other. Things that did not start coming to light until February 1945 can not be used to justify anything prior to that time. Discussing that the Party did good things for Germany does not mean they are going to rise again. For example, looking at the Party platform, tell me just what there is going to inspire any interest in any country today? And that IS the platform that brought them the votes to take power in Germany very legally. On the other hand, for some 40-50 years after he was deposed, Napolean and his supporters were treated like Hitler and the Nazis are today. Meetings of his supporters were banned by law. Possession of any memorabilia or insignia was a criminal offense. All very like the laws in Germany today. But for some 120 years, Napolean and his followers have been rehabilitated. France has not risen to conquer Europe. Napoleanites have not reformed to search for a new leader. There has not even been a "Napoleanic Party" formed. If you should happen to like mantras, if we forget the horrors of the Roman Empire Caesar's Legions will march again.
