Karl Rove, Bush's favorite felon
OK, innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. That could take years.
We have a right to blood right now. If there was ever a proper use for the
term traitor it fits this man. Back when the special prosecutor was
questioning everyone in the White House Bush hired his only private, outside
lawyer. For the record no attorney/client privilege exists between
government employee and government employed attorney. In other words the
leak is from one of Bush's closest advisors. It is reasonable to assume he
does not act without Bush's approval.
All this talk about freedom of the press and the first amendment being
harmed is nonsense. If someone had told a reporter Rove was the felon that
would be a privileged source. This man is a criminal. The very fact he gave
out her CIA job is the felony. This is no more privileged than seeing Rove
murder someone and not revealing the source. But just to be certain the
issue of confidentiality was not raised, only those who had not published
the information were involved. Previous decisions only cover published
information.
But like Watergate, the substance of the issue is being overlooked. We never
did find out what the Watergate burglars were looking for. And here we are
not learning who forged the Niger uranium papers. The forgery is total
confirmation the "intelligence" was being fixed as related in the Downing
Street Memo. Outing Plame was revenge for showing beyond doubt they were
forgeries. (Never mind they were demonstrated to be forgeries on the
internet within 48 hours.) The question no one is asking is WHO forged it
because the answer will reveal exactly who was inciting war against Iraq.
Was it a political favor or an independent effort? Was it Italy or Israel?
This crime is worth only ten years if it was only revealing the name of an
undercover agent. Lets test that claim "we are at war with terrorism" and up
the charge to treason as she was working to uncover the spread of WMDs which
features prominently in this so-called war. That way we can execute the
bastard and anyone who had a hand in it including Bush.
Out-mongering the warmongers
Before the August recess Congress can pretend it has heard nothing from home
districts. Maybe they really have heard nothing. Home districts are only
good for votes not for campaign contributions. But when they go home and
have to listen and give speeches that repeat what they hear, they go on
record as agreeing with their constituents.
But for the moment they are trying to out-do the neo-cons in pushing war.
More troops, more aggressive actions. Whatever Bush and company say, "Me Too!
and then Some!" If there were an election tomorrow it would be as it was in
2004, the choice would be between war and more war. Like the other white
meat, Democrats are the other war party.
Did Bush lie us into war?
Obviously he did. Johnson lied us into war in Vietnam. When Bush says
withdrawal would be surrendering to terrorists recall Johnson said of
Vietnam it would be surrendering to communism. When Bush says we cannot
have our troops deaths be in vain, Johnson said the same thing about
Vietnam.
When Bush says we have to fight them in Iraq or fight them in America even
Johnson was not dumb not to say anything like that. Maybe Johnson
underestimated the stupidity of the American public.
Why is it the people lose their critical reasoning, their native ability to
smell bullshit, when a politician speaks nonsense?
War with Iran
Iran just held an election and the US publicly condemned the results. Bush
says he wants democracy but only if he likes the results. For a fact Iran's
election was more legitimate than the one in Iraq done under foreign
occupation. Egypt has a scheduled election which will be much less
legitimate than Iran's but which has already been praised by Bush. But
because Bush doesn't like the results in Iran he continues to finance the
terrorist MEK against Iran.
Israeli squatters
Years ago I took to calling them squatters because they lived outside of
Israel on stolen land. Izziehuggers could be counted on to object, call them
settlers you antisemite. Imagine my surprise when I learned the words used
for them in Hebrew is squatters not settlers.
Composite administration position
The terrorists in Iraq are in their last twelve years of throes while we
stay the course.
2005 July 03
Honor their sacrifice
I guess I am out of touch. Just how is death honored by sending more to die?
That sounds very strange if you stop and think about it. It doesn't mean
anything. Additional sacrifice does not honor sacrifice. If you want to
honor death that way go volunteer for a tour of duty in Iraq and jump in
front of a bullet or something.
There is an old sergeant new asshole rip to the idealistic recruit. Dead is
nothing but dead. There is no honor. There is no glory. There is nothing but
dead. All that talk you hear from the green second louie it crap they were
taught to say to get dumb shits like you to fight so they can get
promotions.
How are dead honored by sending more to die? How are the dead honored by
killing more of the people who killed them? How does death honor death? It
is not as though we are going to do anything to win. It is not as though
there is an objective to the fighting.
See that grave over there? He is there to honor the guy in this grave over
here. And the guy in this grave died to honor the guy in the grave in the
next county over. On and on, ad infinitum.
There have been many objectives for this war but we cannot make death
retroactive and assign them to the current cause of the hour. They died for
the currently popular reason at the time of their deaths. Not that they
volunteered to die of course but the rhetoric sounds good. It is what they
teach second louies. I mean if they died when WMDs were the reason then that
is why they died. If they died when nuclear weapons were the in thing that
is why they died. If they died when Iraq was behind 9/11 then that is why
they died. Not even Bush gets the privilege of changing the past.
So when reasons are out of date, beyond credibility, overtaken by events,
obvious lies, there is no way to honor deaths for bullshit with deaths for
entirely different reasons. The only common denominator so far is dying for
bullshit.
There is no honor in dying for bullshit. There is no honor in dying. Dead is
dead. Good is going home to family and dying surrounded by grandchildren.
And maybe burning the neo-cons in Effigy, Ohio.
2005 July 02
Two months later, Bush learns nothing
Part of this can be excused because his Vice President and his cabinet
members don't know what is going on in Iraq and they contradict the military
in Iraq. There is no mincing words here and I do not do morality. No more
than one story can be true. The other stories are lies told by liars. Can
they be mistaken? Certainly, but incompetents are to be replaced and none
are being replaced.
Then there is Bush who deals with falling support for the war and growing
recognition the war was based on lies by repeating the same old lies with a
modest rehash of the same old speech. He offers nothing new. He says we will
win without saying what win means. He only talks about things that were done
in Vietnam and did not work.
He says we have to fight terrorists in Iraq before we fight them at home. He
doesn't appear to notice there were no terrorists in Iraq before the US took
over. And he appears to expect Iraqis to love Americans for bringing
terrorists to Iraq and fighting its war in their country. He shows no
recognition of the right of Iraqis to kill foreign troops in Iraq. He
refuses to say insurgents much less resistance fighters or patriots.
His sycophants still argue for his war. He is their "commander in chief"
without the necessity of wearing uniforms. They play pretend soldiers in an
imaginary homeland army.
His supposed detractors are still claiming they can better manage the war
rather than calling for impeachment. So far their better management is
compounding the mistakes already made including repeating the escalation as
in Vietnam that lost in Vietnam.
The future is more of the same or even escalating the same. More Americans
dead for no gains; more Iraqis dead for no loss.
Only one man has shown himself capable of bringing peace and security to
Iraq but Saddam Hussein is in prison awaiting trial on largely trumped up
charges.
2005 May 07
Democratic bombing in Free Iraq
Bombing levels are back to normal after Iraq creates its first government in
decades. It is now a free country. Bombers have rights too. The situation
can almost be described as a civil war save it lacks a unified opposition.
Lies in Britain don't hurt Blair
Democracy in Britain returned Blair and his party to power. Who is
responsible for the actions of the government if not the voters? The Brits
have voted for murdering Iraqis. The Brits, like the Americans, have chosen
to be murderers.
2005 April 26
Those magic weapons
The last lie is exposed; Iraq's nonexistent magic weapons did not get moved
to Syria before the conquest. And still the patriotic press won't say we
were lied into the war. England is facing elections in early May. The lies
of war are front and center in that election. Unlike the american press the
British media is actually covering the lies as lies.
2005 April 14
Democracy blooming in the Middle East
Bush is taking credit for three elections, those in Palestine, Lebanon, and
Iraq. The one in Palestine follows the one seven years ago in Palestine. it
was delayed three years because of the Israeli occupation. The one in
Lebanon is still to come, maybe. It is iffy because Syria's stabilizing
influence is gone. And then there is the one in Iraq which is going no place
fast.
But let us give his promises credence, that democracy is blooming from the
barrel of a gun. If true the Saudi government will fall soon bring chaos to
the world's oil market. Egypt will collapse into a free for all democracy.
Kuwait will finally become the democracy Bush Sr. promised back in 1990. And
all will be well with the world.
As good Americans we value democracy in foreign countries above our very
lives. So we must know when the totalitarian dictatorship in Saudi will be
eliminated. When will the sham democracy in Egypt become a real democracy
and where will the mutilated body of Mubarak be interred? And out of
curiosity when will there be fair and free elections in Pakistan to replace
the military coup presently in power?
And after they all become democracies will they also be expansionist
military states like Israel? Will they all lawfully discriminate against
minorities who are not members of the state religion? Will they all insist
upon becoming democratic nuclear powers?
2005 March 31
Liars one and all
Enough semantics over lying
2005 March 17
There is still fighting in Fallujah
It is now in its fifth month and no indication of when it will end.
2005 March 11
Lebanon 20% democratic
The pro-Syrian demonstration was at least four times larger than the
anti-Syrian demonstration so Bush declared the smaller was a sign of
democracy. Only an Aggie.
Democracy is on the rise in Lebanon. Lebanon, a country so democratic it has
elections scandals, is suddenly democratic because he is ordering Syria to
leave in defiance of the majority in Lebanon.
Bush who is so concerned about foreign occupation that he is oblivious to
Israel's 38 year occupation of southern Syria. He gives a whole new meaning
to the term Aggie.
2005 March 02
From worse to worser
Back in December the US lost control of even the six mile stretch of road
connecting the Baghdad airport with the Green Zone. It was never regained.
At that time control of the roads from Kuwait was a sometimes thing.
Now they have given up attempting to control the roads. All supplies are
delivered by air in what is described as the largest air supply operation
since the Berlin airlift.
2005 February 25
Minimal US control weakens further
A few months ago they lost control of a mere six miles of highway connecting
the Green Zone and the airport. This week they managed to lose control of
the land route connecting Baghdad and Kuwait. This is what some call a
deteriorating situation. Most would call it a looming disaster. All supplies
must be transported by air. There was a similar problem at Dien Bien Phu.
2005 February 22
Bush has approved war on Iran
Scott Ritter has been a reliable source. The war starts this summer. A war
is scheduled and still zero evidence of a nuclear weapons program.
Bush's European Vacation
He's not as funny as the Griswalds but is as out of touch as Chevy Chase's
character. He is just going through the motions of trying to get European
support for his war on Iran knowing he doesn't have a chance in hell. Europe
learned from appeasing Hitler. He went through the same motions for the war
on Iraq. Europe refuses to bend to his will and he will condemn Europe and
use it as justification for the Iran war.
Bush is forcing Europe to fail in negotiations with Iran
It is simple. Europe alone cannot offer Iran enough to give up it nuclear
power program. The US must participate to make the offer good enough.
Therefore it will fail. Bush will claim that is sufficient justification for
war. The simple Americans will support the war.
The UN Security Council will not support Bush
Either Russia or China will veto it. But both countries are closer to Iran
than Europe and in greater danger if there really were a weapons program.
It is all about Israel
Bush accuses Iran of supporting terror because Israel accuses Iran of
supporting its enemies. NO OTHER COUNTRY but these two claims Iran
supports terrorism. Although he implies it, Bush does not claim Iran
supports terrorism against the US. There is no evidence in any event.
Iran nukes will upset the balance of power in the mideast
Iran is not even in the middle east. Iran is bordered by Pakistan with
nukes. Israel is a nuclear power which has threatened to attack Iran. How is
power in balance now? Why in the world would Iran not want nukes?
Consequences of attacking Iran?
No one knows. The idea it will lead to a popular uprising is right up there
with Iraqis strewing rose petals for the US Army to walk on. As people they
will rally to their flag. Even if they overthrow the Mullahs they will still
act as the aggrieved party and the victim of a cowardly attack.
Certainly Israel will be attacked even if the US is the only identified
attacker. Israeli planes with US markings will be part of the attack as they
were in both wars on Iraq. Iran will certainly consider attacking Israel.
2005 February 21
Hariri assassination
At the moment the primary suspects are people who traveled on Australian
passports. That makes them either Australians or Israelis.
2005 February 20
Israel's attack on Iran
It is well known Israel has no planes which can reach Iran carrying any
significant weight in bombs even if they fly over Iraq. It is also well
known even with a full bomb load it will takes dozens if not hundreds of
sorties. After Israel attacks there will be vague talk up fuel tanks which
the media will repeat, it will become the established truth, any question
will be a conspiracy theory.
The fact is Israel will operate out of US bases in Iraq to attack Iran. The
US will deny it. Any counterattack by Iran on those bases will be called an
attack on the US and justification for war against Iran.
Bush does Europe
Part of this will be to convince Europe to follow the US lead against Iran.
They will decline the generous offer. Later Bush or Rice will go to the UN
with the same objective. The UN will also decline. Then Bush will declare he
has done everything possible to resolve the issue of Iran peacefully. It is
the Iraq approach repeated for the ever gullible and complacent, simple Americans.
2005 February 18
Bush is drinking again
This week in Bush. He orders Syria to remove its troops from Lebanon but
says nothing about Israel's troops in Syria. He says he, meaning the US,
will back an Israel attack on Iran. Iran and Syria say they will cooperate
against any attack by the US or Israel.
Please! Someone! Take the key to the liquor cabinet from him. Actually it
sounds more like his other favorite, cocaine.
2005 February 17
Changing reasons for Iraq
Back when the reason was terrorism, protecting America, weapons of magic
destruction the call to the troops and the people was patriotism. It was
defense of home and hearth. Now that the sole purpose is to let Iraqis have
purple fingers the action is simply mercenary. This is why experienced
soldiers can get high pay from security contractors and why they are taking
it. It is also why the government is offering re-enlistment bonuses up to
$150,000 to some people. It is a bidding war not a patriotic war.
As contractors, not only do they get all the benefits and at least $50,000 a
year they get one month vacation for each month working in Iraq. Patriotic
soldiers are lucky to get on day off duty after six 18 hour days for more
than a year.
Is torture ever permissible?
What a stupid question but people still ask it. We know for a fact that
torture can elicit confessions to the impossible such as intercourse with
the Devil. Therefore torture is useless and worthless. End of discussion.
2005 February 16
Iran will soon know how to make the bomb
So announces Israel with great portent and pregnancy of pause. What are they
going to do? Make a science fair project?
2005 February 13
Shi'ites have won
The Shi'ites, Sistani in particular, forced the election and won it. They
expect to set up an Islamic republic similar to Iran. Hundreds of billions
of dollars and tens of thousands of lives later and this is the result. As
they would say in Texas, that is something only an Aggie could do.
Keep in mind Bush could care less about this. It does not matter what a
government does to its people as long as the government does what it is told
to do.
There will be no outcry from civil rights advocates or feminists. They will
remain silent. All they care about is public recognition and their jobs.
I know this because I remember all the public anguish over Afghanistan. No
civil rights, women in burkahs, every travail in the book. These
self-serving twits all chimed in to help demonize the Taliban.
There still are no civil rights in Afghanistan. Women are still in burkahs.
And every benefit the Taliban brought has disappeared. Everything is worse
in Afghanistan and our self-interested advocates and feminists have not said
a word.
Blame someone else
Bush has gone back to blaming Syria and Iran for the insurgency. It seems
they won't close their borders. So why doesn't Bush invite them to the US so
they can see how we keep out the Mexicans? Why not learn from the pros?
2005 February 11
Note from America
Reporter Jim Gannon has shown the way to assassinating President Bush. As
his name is Jeff Guckert you only need to make up a name and claim to be a
reporter. By doing so you can get into Bush's press conferences and even get
to ask a question. Once in the same room with the president the method is up
to you.
On the other claw, one can observe there is essentially no security at all
when it comes to reporters.
Or on the third claw we can look at the White House plea of innocence and
give it the ridicule it deserves.
Back to Iraq/n
The anti-american forces control all the roads to Baghdad. This is a natural
progression. America lost the war when it lost control of the five mile road
from the Green Zone to the embassy.
2005 February 10
As with Iraq, so goes Iran
The US alone is spread the same nuclear weapons claims about Iran as were
found to be lies about Iraq. What can Iran do?
Iran can do what the US demands. But Iraq did what the US demanded as was
accused of not doing as demanded. So doing or not doing what the US demands
will both result in a US attack on Iran. Iran can do nothing to placate the
warmongers in America.
So who is going to attack, the US or Israel?
Iran has already said an Israeli attack will be treated as a US attack so it
does not matter to the US who attacks. The US can attack and leave Israel
blameless. The latter is much better for Israel as the entire middle east
will support Iran in a war with Israel.
Needless to say this war will be for Israel. Only Israel claims Iran is
supporting terrorism. The US complains Iran supports terrorism. Therefore
the US supports Israel's lie about Iran. As I am discussing repeated lies,
Israel told the same lie about Iraq. The are really only two countries in
this game and the other one is Israel.
And not to change the subject too much, the other country being targeted
with lies by both the US and Israel is Syria.
The idiot third option
The people of Iran will revolt. And Bush says America will stand with them
if they do. And every Iranian knows he will be considered an American agent
if he even thinks about it.
There is something charmingly childlike
about the president.
2005 February 08
Greedy Israelis who just happen to be Jews
Since last Summer Israel has been stealing land. It declares Palestinians
cut off from their land by the apartheid wall to be absent and then
confiscates the land as abandoned. Last week the equivalent of the Attorney
General ordered the practice stopped. Izziehuggers insist the last be
mentioned because it shows Israel Akbar or something like that.
I have mentioned it. Lets talk about it. He only stopped future activity. He
did not declare all prior use illegal and thus null and void. What has been
stolen remains stolen.
Brought to you by the greedy, thieving Israelis who just happen to be Jews.
If Israel does not speak for all Jews it should stop saying it does. Jews
should condemn Israel for making the claim. Instead only a few fringe
organizations reject the claim but never condemn the claim and those who
make it.
2005 February 05
Shi'ites Rule Iraq
In the American election of 1860 Lincoln and his Republicans ruled the
United States. Elections solve nothing.
2005 January 31
Elections happened
It remains to be seen if the election of unnamed persons will do things
which satisfy the voters. It remains to be seen if Iraqis will accept the
results. It is clear they do not have to accept the result as the election
was imposed by Americans.
See the previous prediction. The violence will increase. The Great Oz has
spoken.
2005 January 26
Everyone wants to comment on Bush's inaugural speech. I refuse to comment
on a speech which promised peace on earth and goodwill towards men from the
barrel of a gun.
2005 January 22
And then the corruption
Oil for food was a drop in the bucket, a simple matter of kickbacks,
baksheesh, an old tradition.
2005 January 19
Understanding Americans
America is a land of simple people who have no idea of what is going on in
the world around them.
As with all simple people they are easily lead by people who lie to them
about the world around them. It takes little sophistication to lead them. As
with all simple peoples Americans trust easily and are loathe to abandon
loyalties. As a simple people they wish mostly to be left alone. They are
easily stirred when told outsiders threaten their simple lives.
Fallujah
The fighting in Fallujah is into its third month. Sometimes you have to
destroy a city in order to save it.
Mosul
After losing control of Mosul in December and troops arriving only two weeks
ago some progress in being reported on the military side.
Unspoken is sufficient troops were not available until two weeks ago.
2005 January 18
Condolezza Rice confirmation hearing
To quote her, "The goal is to get the mission accomplished." Whatever
happened to Bush announcing Mission Accomplished back in May 2003? Has the real accomplishment finally gotten through to
those bushit heads?
2005 January 16
Election Day, 30 January 2005
The first certain thing about the election is the violence will increase
leading up to it. The second certain thing is the violence will continue to
increase after it. The third certain thing is Bush will blame it on those
who did not win in the election.
Partial vindication
Finally American commanders in Iraq are beginning to agree with me. They are
admitting they are facing an organized resistance movement that is growing
and improving. But still they are claiming they are containing it when in
fact they are losing.
It is the height of wishful thinking that what is growing and improving is
being contained. The most which can be said is they have enough troops now
to control it at its present size. At some point it will become to large to
control. Then more troops will be needed and a draft will be required.
But a draft will take at least six months to increase the troop strength in
Iraq. The chickenhawks will say Iraqis are fearful and will seek peace. They
will in take the delay as a time to increase in numbers and prepare to deal
with raw recruits not happy with being drafted.
Vietnam will is good guidance for that and there is plenty of cheap heroin
in Afghanistan that Iran only has to not stop crossing into Iraq -- if they
could.
Death Squads
You have to love the fantasy life of the pro and anti Iraq war types.
Americans who cannot even speak the language are going to move among the
Iraqi guerrillas whom they cannot identify and kill them. Or Americans are
going to start paying Shi'ites to assassinate guerrillas when they can't pay
enough to have them simply reported. And as though Shi'ites have no interest
in revenge on their own, can't defend themselves better and can't find out
who is behind it better than Americans.
Elections for the elect
Bush has said the election will the "an incredibly hopeful experience." At
least he stopped saying it will mean anything more than watching, "The Sound
of Music."
In theory Bush will have to live with the results of the election. In
practice he merely has to declare the election null and void for any of a
dozen obvious reasons including the reasons we are now being assured are
under control.
2005 January 15
Fake Secrets
Now that Bush has admitted he lied about Iraq it is more humorous. It was
all based (he said or lied) upon the 2002 National Intelligence Estimate
which was and is still Top Secret? Why is it still classified? It was all
wrong totally and completely. What is secret? That it would reveal secret
methods of collecting totally false information?
Gee whiz, Bushman! We are all Americans protecting a secret from ourselves
about how the entire government establishment screwed up beyond belief. It
is good we cannot learn exactly how we screwed up and why.
Now we have Bush and the bush-babies saying that their lies don't matter.
They are trying to argue Hussein was not a nice man. We stipulate he was not
nice. We stipulate Bush is not nice. So what?
Why would anyone agree with killing and being killed because someone is not
a nice person? That is not how the war was sold. There is no turning back or
excusing the lying cause of the war.
2005 January 07
Temporary troop increase for the elections
Back on December 6 I said the troops increase for the election was likely to
be permanent. Yesterday the Army made the likelihood official. This is
called escalation as in Vietnam.
2005 January 06
Delay the election
This supposedly will increase Sunni participation because of another
miracle. Violence will suddenly decrease because the election is put off
indefinitely. But the Shiite majority is guaranteed to win it big time
increasing their power in the puppet government.
Color me cynical but the violence started before there was an election date
set and has been steadily increasing since the mission was accomplished.
Putting off the election delays increasing the power of the Shiite majority
something the majority is not likely to favor. During the delay the on-going
resistance continues to increase.
Increase troop strength
The best idea the bushitters have is to increase the number of American
troops, in other words, more of the same, more of what has made matters
worse. The idiot reason given for this is to "signal American resolve" to
the resistance. You have to hand it to these idiots. They are not simply a
little bit clueless. More of the same plus a signal is going to accomplish
something entirely different. The troops are responsible for the resistance.
More troops plus a signal changes nothing.
So how does America win?
It doesn't. It can't. The attempt to win something, anything, is the
problem. The only real question is what do Iraqis want and no one is asking
them. America has its puppets say what they want to hear to justify American
policy. The puppets say Iraqis want America to stay in Iraq and keep the
peace. Interviews with real Iraqis a month after the mission was
accomplished found Iraqis were asking when the Americans were going to
leave.
Attempting to impose any American objective is the use of force against
Iraqis. An American definition of winning is achieving an American
objective. The bushitters don't know what that is.
Way back when the objective was weapons. Then is was finding Hussein. Then
it was imposing democracy at gunpoint. Recently the objective has been as
simple as holding the election. Then what? The middle east will become
heaven on earth.
2005 January 05
Iraq to cost $100 billion for the coming year
The present year cost $60 billion, a bit over one billion a week. The coming
year a bit under two billion a week. Will the year after this cost four
billion a week?
The coming year is going to be nearly $300 million per day. For 150,000
troops that is about $2000 per soldier per day. But this year the same
number of troops cost only $1000 a day. Are they getting a pay raise?
It is good to go out with a bang
A hundred billion dollar bang does seem a bit much. More money spent but no
new tactics or policy or approach is being offered. Double the money to do
twice as much of the same thing to lose the war twice as fast.
How to stop the resistance
According to Bush. Escalating reprisals have not worked. The destruction of
Fallujah did not work. But an election will work. The violence will
instantly and miraculously end the day after the election. George gets some
wild and crazy ideas some times.
2005 January 04
New accomplishments for the new year
The mayor of Baghdad was assassinated today. The resistance has shown
collaborators of even this high office are not safe. The mayors of lesser
cities are equally vulnerable. Everyone below the office of mayor is more
vulnerable.
How vulnerable? The mayor survived an attack in September. They got him on
the second try.
Outgoing Secretary of State and White House nigger Colin Powell said the
assassins want to go back to rule by Saddam Hussein and informed us, "The
Iraqi people do not want that to happen." If they don't want it to happen
why are they supporting the resistance? A resistance movement cannot survive
without the support of the people. Therefore the people support it.
More to the point, the resistance has shown every sign of increasing in
strength despite the destruction of Fallujah. Without the destruction would
the resistance be even stronger?
Deaths from violence that have made the news for today, 1 governor, 5 GIs,
16 others.
200,000 fighters in the resistance
No one has good estimates for how many. If the number is 200,000 that means
it has 2 million supporters. That means it cannot lose. It means Americans
cannot win. The senior american general has said he is not winning. That
means he is losing.
Prison and torture for life without trial
Bush is talking about it. So far the response has been on the order of the
term "unwise" and milder expressions. Hate to repeat myself. Being put in
prison without process of law makes the imprisonment personal. The main
consequence of it is those imprisoned and those who would act on their
behalf have an absolute moral right to do anything they wish to attempt to
secure their release.
It is Bush's idea. If they are really al Qaeda members then not only their
friends and families but also al Qaeda has a moral right to use any
available means and any degree of force in the attempt. That is includes
assassination, kidnapping, serial murder, warning attacks, anything they can
conceive of. This is a moral issue not a legal issue.
We have been reading of this in Iraq for a year now. Kidnapping and
threatening to kill unless people are released from prison. It may be bad
press but it is a completely moral action as long as the hostages are
conceivably related to the objective.
But there is more. No American is safe from being locked away for life at
the whim of their government. If this is to be the case then just cause for
violent revolution to overthrow the government exists right now. An
essential feature of the constitution has been violated. History shows this
can take decades to reverse with unmeasurable death and suffering. Prudence
counsels immediate action.
One has to think like a paranoid to think of a reason Bush wants to incite
and justify a revolution.
2004 December 30
Almost the new year
Going into the new year Americans are 56% against the war in Iraq. Going
into the new year everyone is openly saying there is a war in Iraq not a few
"dead enders" or other imaginary enemies of Iraq. Going into the new year
even Americans are realizing they are enemies of America.
In the coming year the resistance will become stronger. The violence will
increase steadily leading up to the 30 January elections and grow
explosively after the results are announced. The American death rate will
increase from the present three a day to over ten a day. Bush will declare
the election a success while Iraqis will blame it for the increase in
violence.
Americans will slowly come to speak openly what they know now. Iraq has
nothing to do with America's freedom. By the end of the year Americans will
openly say what Iraqis are saying, Americans are the cause of the violence
in Iraq.
By the end of 2005 only the Brits will have coalition troops in Iraq.
Blair's political future will rest upon this one issue.
Secretary of State Rice will make Madelyn Halfbright look intelligent.
Those are not predictions. They are the natural consequence of 2005 not
being an election year. Republicans will not feel a need to defend Bush and
Democrats will not feel a need to be pro-war. Without the election bushit
there is no cover for speaking of the facts as they are.
