This is a collection of references. I suggest
at least skimming it to see what each section uses to answer each question
so that you know what you have. I chose the questions from objections to the
RTKBA I have found over the years. The "answers" are what I have found most
useful in responding to those objections.
If you want to see it all brought together
(and can stand my writing style) I wrote the answer to the last question
based upon what I have files on, most of which is included here.
1. What is the Constitutional basis for gun ownership?
2. What is the early legislation regarding the
militia?
3. What are the relevant Supreme Court decisions?
4. What was the original intent of the Second
Amendment?
5. Opinions are fine but where is proof?
6. But the words as adopted are confusing.
7. But can not the words be reinterprated today?
8. If interpretations can not vary what is the current
interpretation?
9. What does the American Civil Liberties Union have to
say on the matter?
10. Do guns really prevent crime?
11. Putting it all together, what does it all
mean?
