It ain't Art's Gallery III

Kafkaesque
One day I awoke to discover I had been transformed into a six foot cockroach.
And took an in-depth look at myself.
And I decided to end it all.

Part of the Lexx
just noodling

animation
The Lexx itself is so complicated even a modestly good copy of it is difficult. There is always something to learn along the way. The moving parts are two hemisphere (spere clipped_by plane) that rotate open. The problem is to have the opening part facing outward regardless of its location.

#declare tt = 0;
#while (tt < 360)
object {eyec rotate 90*x
rotate<0,0,tt>
rotate<-80*sin(pp*tt),70*cos(pp*tt),0>
translate
}
#declare tt = tt + 9 ;
#end

#declare tt = 0;
#while (tt < 360)
object {eyec rotate 90*x
rotate<0,0,tt>
rotate<-80*sin(pp*tt),80*cos(pp*tt),0>
translate
}
#declare tt = tt + 9 ;
#end

The second rotate in each block changes, one for each ring around the "north pole." Look carefully and you see that spherical geometry you ignored or avoided in high school.
